𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 – Paediatric Intensivist, Pediatrician, Child Doctor, Child Specialist at 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞. 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 is a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Intensivist at 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞 & 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 & 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜, 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐝𝐢, 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞 with over 7 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 in caring for critically ill infants and children. She is committed to providing evidence-based, high-quality paediatric critical care while supporting children and their families through challenging medical situations. 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 completed her 𝐌𝐁𝐁𝐒 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐌𝐂 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧 2017 and 𝐌𝐃 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐌𝐂 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐧 2022. She further advanced her expertise by completing the 𝐈𝐃𝐏𝐂𝐂𝐌 (𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞) 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐚𝐢 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧, Mumbai, a leading centre for specialised paediatric care. 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞: 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 specialises in 𝐏𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞, managing children with complex and life-threatening conditions, including: ● Severe infections and sepsis ● Respiratory distress and critical respiratory illnesses ● Neurological emergencies ● Multi-organ dysfunction ● Critically ill infants and children ● Complex paediatric medical emergencies Her approach combines clinical expertise, careful monitoring, and a child-centred philosophy. She focuses not only on the medical needs of young patients but also on providing clear communication and emotional support to their families. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 & 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Along with her clinical responsibilities, 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 has contributed to medical research and academic publications. Her work includes research on 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐬’ 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫, 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐧, and a recent publication in the Indian Journal of Paediatrics (2025) exploring the role of melatonin in children with cerebral palsy. At 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive paediatric critical care. She is also involved in 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, helping ensure that current treatment protocols and critical care standards are followed. With her 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡, 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐃𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐞 is dedicated to providing specialised critical care for children when they need it most.
